Food Porn Friday – Episode 12: Chocolate

Hey guys. I was going to say “staying with the comfort food track” but isn’t all brunch comforting, really? The point is, this week is especially comforting. It’s chocolate week. And I agreed with Amy that I wasn’t going to go subtle…

French toast is something I used to make all the time, but making it sweet is a very American thing that didn’t particularly appeal to me. Then I saw this recipe.

Every stage of that recipe looks great. Cover bread in chocolate ganache. Soak in hot chocolate. Bake. Cover with marshmallows.

Waffles have been strangely absent from Food Porn Friday so far, so let’s rectify that.

I can’t say much more about this except that it’s a chocolate waffle, covered in maple syrup and melted peanut butter. I’m not a huge peanut butter fan, but the other weekend I made a Victoria sponge cake and filled it with peanut butter and chocolate buttercream and ate the whole thing myself so possibly it’s growing on me.

Waffles are closely followed by pancakes. Again, as chocolate-y as possible.

They almost look like chocolate brownies, don’t they?

Finally, this was just one of those picture that made me emit a strange sound…

Sometimes melted chocolate just has that effect, doesn’t it?

Please let me know what you’d like to see in Food Porn Friday in the run up to Christmas! And I’ll see you next week (providing I survive the work Christmas party…!)
